The mall is definitely an ideal place to go for candids!!

Love the sign in the background! Looks like old mate in the foreground is contemplating going in. Very funny!!!

Cool – love a bit of photorealism… nicely done! And how high are those trousers… almost looks staged as the people are in perfect position. Great work!

    Thanks heaps for the comments…

I agree Mel… the Mall is a great place to go in search of all sorts of candid opportunities.

Andrew… I actually didn’t see that before, but now that you say, I can see what you mean. The separation between the various characters is what stands out to me.

Thanks Paul… yeah, the moment was totally serendipitous. I was lucky to be there.

I love the way that there is absolutely no eye contact, it illustrates how impersonal, the city is! Everyone is in their own little world, even the couple in the background, although connected by holding hands, still seem very disconnected with each other!

    Great composition.

This is a really nice shot. There is so much happening in it. It makes you wonder what everyone is thinking. I love the couple in the back, how they look distant from each other. Nice work!

Really love this series…can’t wait to see more. You’ve really captured that sense of ‘together alone’-ness that’s so prevalent in the city; from the fellas in the foreground to the couple facing opposite directions in the background. It’s great!

A classic ‘street candid’ shot. I like how you’ve taken in all the important elements to tell the story. You have a great eye for this, well done.

Great capture Lachlan. The black border really works in accentuating the young man. Though he isn;t front and centre, he seems to control the frame. Nice job.

fantastic street scene.. the old guy seems confused, on the edge of a decision, or maybe he’s just perplexed at the guy on the left and whatever he’s up to. Nice shot!

There are a lot of things I like about this shot.
Juxtaposition of old man/young man, pure/hooters, the couple together yet looking their seperate ways.
Great ‘perfect moment’ shot, well done!
