I grew up in Rosebank, NSW. I’d always wanted to take photos since I was young enough to think. Unfortunately I didn’t have a camera of my own. Often, I’d be on camping trips with my family, and I’d say to Dad… “that would be a good photo wouldn’t it Dad?”. Dad would answer… “Yeah… but your eye’s are the best camera Locky.”

He was right. Your mind captures so much more than you can with a camera. The sounds, the smells, the feelings. But the beauty of photography is that when you go back and look at a good photo, your mind adds all the extra details.

At last, when I began studying at Uni I bought my first camera – a Praktica LTL – and so began an obsession (unhealthy at times) of taking photos and viewing the world through the lense. I love photography, and I hope that I can eventually achieve the perfect balance between photography and life, as with many of my other pursuits.

I have just finished a Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Queensland. I like all sorts of photography, as you will see from my work. I especially like candid, and photography that tells a story.
