firefly secrets

be still

come into
my presence

allow my firefly secrets

to accept your darkness
into my soft lights

my own darkness
to be taught
by the walking bassline of your grace

the code
of the ever many songs
of my being

rag ged
rest less ness

q u i e t s

last. . . .

to align the elemental rhythms
of heart with heart

love cycles

your strong movements of passion

a gentleness
that can break
a bone
. . . . .

One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach. One can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few.

Accepting one anothers darkness and giving each other light makes two souls stronger and at peace. I love how you wrote this, it has a nice rythm to it: feels like if you two are dancing a note all of your own. I like the concept of firefly secrets. I love butterflies, do you think they might hold secrets of their own? Nicely written.

  • Hi Iris :)) I love how you put that. beautiful. yes I do think fireflys and butterflys hold definite secrets. They are both beautiful and giving yet quick to leave. Fireflys flicker and twinkle at their own speed and rhythm and it is how they talk . . how many did I hold in my hands? does their precious phospherous rub off on us? Butterflies and in particular Monarchs feed off the the bitter juice of the milkweed which makes them inedible to many predators. all the while sharing their beauty. Thank you dear Iris. x
