Artist's Description

Well- Im calling it a day on this piece. A lot of things wrong in this- the hand on left, the eye on right- not aligned in the right spot.
The lessons I learned with this one:
1. Finish work- your style changes and hard to get back into the groove sometimes.
2. A wise instructor once advised me “Start with eyes, when the eyes are right, then continue”. Otherwise you may invest a lot of time and then you can’t get the eyes to work together. That’s what happened with this one.
3. Watch the harsh internal critic, don’t even let it get started- it will freeze you up. Be kind to yourself !!
Love the fabric though – drapery studies rock!
The cup represents the set of given things of my life- my past, my wounding, my oddness as well as my gifting.
Psalm 16:5
Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup,
you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen
for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
