From my Shagbark Series- the Shagbark King. In winter these buds have a hard wooden case around the bud to protect it. This is a bit stylized, but the little nuances of this form are taken from my observations. A very masculine presence in winter, yet it becomes the picture of feminine grace as it sheds it’s layers and blossoms in Spring. Like two gender types in one species. And to top it off- there is a majestic beauty that I find delightful. Love the peach fuzz too.
