playing with fire . . . . by

i really am. I totally smell like smoke.
so far plants, rain, snow, ice, earth, wind . . . and now fire.
I will need to develop ways to semi – control . . . but with only a light touch of restraint. Not too much intervention.
I can see I will need to make or modify special tools.
almost burnt my darn shoe stepping in to scoop embers. ha haaa.
I am encouraged by today’s experiments . . . :))
I would be very interested in your thoughts on this new beginning series.

Sumi ink, water, ash, embers and plant tinctures on Arches cover stock.

enjoy making direct work from natural materials in my prairie and wildlife sanctuary.
i am a very restless person and I work in many different ways with a variety of media.

One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach. One can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few.

Fire is kinda addictive, by mistake set fire to my friends squat once, candle on a tea chest & fell asleep & nearly died…. police not very happy then :) this reminds me of the right side of my brain :))

  • kinda addictive aye?? guess I’ll find out. that’s a heck of a tale there Andy . . . were lucky to not get hurt. In light of your fabulous art, I think your brain is working just fine. :)))

Are u being Contemporay here or just out for a buzzzzzzzzz! like the way it looks like a head or your desire towards placement… much unsure!!!

  • I am looking to experiment with Process Art . . . these Land Art pieces are very process oriented and the end results are always a big surprise to me. amazes me how often I end up loving the final outcome. I thought in this orientation it sorta looks like a horse head or maybe steer? really great to dialog with you. Thanks so much Andy!

well …looks very cool. be careful now. I’m such a mama. lol : ))) xoxoxoxoxxo

  • ha haa. I know I do need to be careful because when it comes to art I am my most passionate and for art’s sake I have crawled out on a limb. I need a wide small lightweight shovel to handle the embers with and must ALWAYS keep the large water bottle and bucket of water at hand. In my excitement I forgot to grab bucket but it was also out of sight out of mind. I am learning. How I position my tools in these new venue when time is of the utmost essence is very key.
Thanks Mama!! You rock!! xoxoxoxoxxo LOL!!
