How many halves under the sun?
how many halves in each of us?
Should halves collide or complement?
should they fuse or create a new whole?
Should a sphere be construnified?
Should the halves become a fertile whole?
Or is the magical energy of each half
the most marvelous gift to keep alive?
Development is the truth here…
Gently unfolding each other
Or constructing a new universe,
developing and expanding
just like the sun.

This is just soooo beautiful. I love it. Love the textures on the green leaves and the one half of the flower still closed – as if shy. Even the seeds in the inside are in different stages of development. Only thing that bugs my eye is the pink/purple bit behind the flower – can you not ps it out? It’s really an amazing shot Yves!

  • merci beaucoup! yes it was an amazing one, found in a friend’s garden this week.
you are right to point at “development”: it is as if every stage is represented here: green and hairy, shyly rising up, luminous, proudly blooming, fertile and dark… it looked as if the petal had grown up on one side whereas the sepals would have grown on their own on the other side…
It is actually the petals who give life to the whole flower: on one half they hide the shy and fertile heart while on hte other side they hide the green nourishing sepals.
Argh, thank you for pointing out this pink yoke! do you think it is removable without touching the hairs?
