My friend is in love with poppies! I’ll be sure to tell her I found heaven for her!!!

  • Hi Lina,
I don’t think this kind of field exists in America. Ukrainian folklore is filled with stories about what “Makovij Tsvit” does. I understand that villagers used to give a little bit of mak to a baby in milk so that it would sleep.

oh, I remember fields like this in Crimea. Yes, I have not seen them in USA ( but I am city girl, and not sure about country). I asked out garden guy. why we do not have poppies in our garden, answer was, that they multiply like crazy. Still hoping to see them next year in out back yard. Nice shot.

  • Hello Luda, apparently poppy fields exist in the USA (see below). This is news to me, but interesting. I remember Ukrainian folk tales about villagers giving poppy in milk to the baby so that she would sleep.

Beautiful view. There are the poppy fields like this in California. But poppies have an orange color. Look for Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve.

  • Hi Olga, Thank you for that information. I will check it out.

Oh Yuri, this is magic!!!!! We do have poppies here .. in fact, I grew them for awhile but either the deer or the bunnies or the fact that they were near our black walnut trees (the die in the nuts is murder to everything) killed them off. Fields of them. How I’d love to see something like this!!!!! They are an amazing flower … and you’ve captured them so perfectly!!!!
