Compared to other big lakes of the southern Yukon, Dezadeash is a large shallow bathtub averaging four metres deep. The surface temperature can climb to 18° Celsius and higher in summer. Shallow, warm water attracts migratory birds to the Dezadeash Lake outlets early in the spring. These early sources of open water creates an important staging area for Tundra and Trumpeter swans. I was trying to photograph swans so had my camera set for 1/1000 f 6.3 ISO 100 Fuji S5Pro Tamaron 28-300 l@ 38mm

Played with photography since early High School. Since moving to the Yukon in 1997 I have become much more involved and am now comfortable in Photoshop although there is always more to learn. The Yukon is a great canvas and would recommend it for most everyone’s Bucket List
