This shot was taken on Sept 1 – the middle of Fall in the North of Canada’s Yukon – late afternoon light [5:30]. Unlike fall colours in the South, these colours are produced by ground cover brush and lichens.
the Blackstone river flows out of the Ogilvie Mountains and along with the Hart and Ogilvie Rivers join the Bonnet Plume, Snake and Wind Rivers from the Eastern part of the Territory to form the Peel river which eventually joins the McKenzie River to flow to the Arctic Ocean. This area is slightly below the Arctic Circle
