Wheaton River and Mt Tally-Ho by

Draining the backside of the Coast Mountains that separate Alaska from the Yukon in Canada, the Wheaton River runs down the valley of the same name in the Yuon and empties into Lake Bennett and thus becomes part of the Yukon River System. This is a mineral rich area with active gold claims. 225 views

Played with photography since early High School. Since moving to the Yukon in 1997 I have become much more involved and am now comfortable in Photoshop although there is always more to learn. the Yukon is a great canvas and would recommend it for most everyone’s Bucket List

Very pretty! That’s pretty cool on the active gold claims.

  • there are a number of active mines in the Yukon plus too many more under development. Probably the reason we weathered the economic downturn better than most. However, there are some areas that are so far off limits and the general wish is that they remain so although we have a very pro development government. Took a friend from Ontario down a backroad yesterday to get this

Wow so Pretty beautiful Alaska I would love to go there

  • Many thanks for your comments. [the Yukon is part of Canada but Alaska is our neighbour and they have a lot in common]. We love to have Ausie visitors and have a few living here.
