Poetry: Contemplating Winter collection

Well, I finally decided to post the five poems from my collection entitled Contemplating Winter which was completed in the early 1990’s but never published as a collection. One of the poems, Out of Habit, alternately titled The Cold Season, was published in a collection of featured poets from the Stroll of Poets Society here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Not sure why I chose to post them now, might be the weather… completely snowed in right now! ;)

I’m thinking one of our lovely rays of sunshine in your direction right now!

  • Aww… thanks Soxy! Yeah, I’m gonna need those rays, and soon… I didn’t do the grocery shopping and now I can’t get the car out because of all the snow!

I like them! I didn’t comment individually but wanted to say I like them as a collection. Quite melancholy, but lovely.

  • Thanks Tama, they’re quite old now, but sadly, still not so far removed from me…

    awesome. but depressing.

  • Thanks James, yes they are quite depressing aren’t they… Perhaps I can be inspired to write something more uplifting and positive one day… :)
