Remember the Wow Quilt?

I rather suspect you do! LOL … more in a second ….

First: Joan and I are teaming up and doing joint projects now in addition to me doing her long arm quilting. She loves to piece!!!! I do it now and then but would rather long arm. I have been sending her my closet projects lately, she pieces them and then I finish them off. When we are fortunate enough to sell them, we will each get our cut.

Now: I sent the remnants from Holly’s quilt to my friend Joan to do with whatever she chose. Remnants is a rather misnomer in this case because I had more left over than I used. This came back yesterday!! It is much bigger than the bed so you can’t see it all.

Details & Blog

Some time ago, I stuck a “Wrapped in Paisley” jelly roll (40 2.5" strips of coordinating fabrics) in with a quilt I was shipping back to Joan thinking nothing more of it. I clearly wasn’t going to ever get around to doing anything with it. A couple of weeks ago this came in. It is now one of our joint projects and I will finish it up from here. I added a border, have some backing that will work nicely and I have the custom quilting layout planned in my head waiting to be programmed into my IQ and quilted.

Details & Blog

Anyway, this is some of why I am skippity doing through the bubble now for awhile. Like all of us, I need to generate some cash flow. AND my sister, Sandy, has graciously volunteered to list my quilts on eBay while I continue listing them on my site. I say that, NOT to solicit but to share and to say publicly: THANKS A MILLLION, SIS!!!!! I appreciate this more than you can ever know!!

Busy busy! Your work is always so beautiful and so is that of your friend! Great idea to list them on Ebay! Good luck my friend!

  • Mostly i just plod along at a casual pace. I like having a plan though for what’s next. Thank you for the compliment!! Joan & I are so compatible and enjoy teaming up. Like you and me, we have never met in person YET but are the best of friends through our common denominator of a insatiable love for quilting.

SUPERB – I wish we lived closer – I would love to quilt – I used to do upholstering – Phaff sewing machines – diamond tuffs and more. ….Tony

  • Piecing is easy!! Rotary cutter and ruler, 1/4 inch straight seams. That’s it!! Of course one can make more complicated quilts with lots of points (seams coming together) but it is still straight 1/4 seams. As for quilting, that is what the USPS and my blog are for!! Send it to me. I quilt it and send it right back for you to finish. When you come this way, bring a finished top and some backing & we’ll longarm it together!! Great fun that way!! If you don’t have a sewing machine, I recommend Janome for trouble free fun piecing!! Go for it!! I can give you all the tips my daughter gave me & that is all you need. With your artistic eye, you could make masterpieces!!! You could print your animal pictures on fabric and make a quilt collage. There are some really neat ways to use photos on fabric. I haven’t tried it yet but can see where they would be stunning. More later…

I love what you just wrote to Tony,,, I never told you this but I want to quilt all my fabric from India, I don’t know Linda, but there is a quilting store locally and perhaps…. depends on the cost for me this year, I’ve been waiting to finish my book so I can have the extra cash… wow you rock
PS that paisley is far fargen out!

  • Linmarie is the owner of that Wrapped in Paisley quilt now. Actually, you did mention your Indian fabrics way back when. I have only a few fabrics from India left behind by my deceased priest friend. So gorgeous!!! Such incredible workmanship. Best of luck with your book. They can be a huge project and most time consuming getting the details just so.
