Blue eyes, white hair, totally Irish blended with some Scotch (make that Scottish) whether YouBet (May 2010) or bluewhite (Aug 2009).

I am a spiritual person of absolute faith but totally tolerant of the spirituality of others or even the lack of it. I am a mathematician by formal education, a teacher in the beginning and a software engineer for 25 years or so. I am now retired, a mother of one and a grandmother of two. I live alone in small log cabin in Ashe county in the NC Blue Ridge mountains. And I am content at long last, well … most of the time.

These days I am also a longarm quilter meaning I use a large sewing machine with a long arm to complete a quilt by sewing together the pieced top, a middle layer of batting and a backing fabric. The quilting machine is computer controlled, of course! Would I do it any other way? I do make quilts from beginning to end but most of my time is spent longarming for those who send me their finished quilt tops.

RB art decorates my quilting room & table so I am always remembering my friends here.

I do it now and then but would rather long arm. I have been sending her my closet projects lately, she pieces them and then I finish them off. When we are fortunate enough to sell them, we will each get…

Latest project

I’ll be lazy here (actually just have so much I want to do) and just link to my blog on this until it becomes a grown up quilt! LOL. I’ll add details to this as I go along, as I do to all my projects, so the one who will receive the quilt gets to see it happen. / Oh, okay… here is a hint of things to come!! / Pamela says: Go ahead and turn green with envy! This one is mine! Well…

Run Through the Fields

RUN THROUGH THE FIELDS — lyrics & music by Steve Crouse / With the dawning of the morning, you rise to face your day / Looking for its meaning in your journey on the way / To becoming the person that you were meant to be / The world tries to chain you but your spirit remains so free / (chorus) / So run through the fields that are living in your mind / Feel the warm breeze and dream of t…
