Initially trained as an artist following European traditions at the Royal Academy of Arts in Brussels. Yoso then moved to England to pursue his studies in painting, after which he established himself as an artist/ art director in London where he has lived for 10 years. His focus has always been on visual arts, from graphic design, digital design, painting, objects, murals, video projections, and the creation of environments and brands. The last 5 years of his designer carrer, most of his work has been focused on commercial creative work. Including Clients such as Nike, Diesel, FIFA, BMG, MTV, The Book of Cool.

After many collaborations with artists from around the world and having experimented with various techniques and ideas. Yoso has decided to pursue his tattoo research in Japan where he studies Japanese Arts. Yoso has always thought that Japan was one of the countries that had beautiful visual traditions still alive and also some of the most creative contemporary design available in the world today. Also, Buddhism and Zen started to take more importance in his personal life. He then decided to pursue his studies and work in Japan, as he sees Traditional Japanese Arts not only as a visual style but a way of working and a way of life. He sees in the Japanese spirit, a way to combine spirituality, creativity, and discipline. Which produces outstanding visual work that inspires daily life and the world. He is also highly impressed by the respect that Japanese have for each other in their daily life.

Yoso has been selected as one of 24 artists to represent London in Barcelona, Berlin and Milan. An exhibition organised by Totally London. An organisation set up by London’s government to promote London’s creativity abroad.

He has also been invited by the well known Serpentine Gallery in London to Collaborate with CAO FEI, a contemporary Chinese artist, on a show at the Battersea power Station in London.

His work and collaborations has also been exhibited at the Brussels Art Fair, , MOJO Festival (HOLLAND), XCARE, TAIPEI, FILE Festival / Brazil . Brussels Art fair among other festivals. It has also been been reviewed in various publications over the past, Including BLUE PRINT Magazine (UK), Create Online (UK), Shift Magazine (Germany), Web Design Magazine (Korea), Creative Review (UK), FILE DVD (Brazil), Diesel DVD (Italy / worldwide), OFFF DVD (Spain)

Although Yoso only started tattooing in 2005. 18 years of visual traditions are behind his research. Very conceptual in its approach. Yoso is definitely one of the guys you should choose if you want a Tattoo that suits ‘YOU’.

Love and Peace
