Want to buy a bank? by

This is one of the branches that got closed down when Halifax ate Bank of Scotland and became HBOS.

Oddly enough, the selling agency doesn’t admit it used to be a bank: the place is described as “The premises comprise a multi windowed retail unit arranged over the ground and basement floors of a three storey and attic stone built building under a pitched and slated roof. There is also a return frontage on to Coburg Street.”

It’s been closed down and for sale for some time: the paint on the outer walls is battered. Who would buy a bank?

It is really sad what’s happening in town … lots of old buildings falling into disrepair and neglect. Was in town on Friday on a bus going to Surgeon’s Hall and was shocked by the state of some of the shops and buildings … I usually drive through and you don’t have the same time to see things.
    Excellent composition and image!
