Well done for getting to the featured page. Been a while since I’ve been in town. I thought this was Johnston Terrace. Passed this way many times when I worked as a breakdown patrol. Edinburgh has so many fabulous sights really good to see one that the tourists miss. They usually shoot from Princess Street & that’s the sad part. They miss so many other good shots.

Did I? I missed it! Ah well, fame’s fleeting. smiles If I’d gone just a few feet further up, I’d have been on Johnstone Terrace – but I stayed where there was a traffic island to stand on and take my photos. I like the effect of the lamp-post to one side and the bus-stop to the other, anyway: an ancient castle, a modern city.

I like castles, but Edinburgh Castle is special to me; it’s the background to where I’ve lived most of my life.
