Shadows and haar
Looking down Hanover Street towards the Royal Scottish Academy Building, on a haar-thick winter morning in December: where the shadow falls, the pavements are still wet enough with the water from the air to reflect back the light, but in direct sunlight the moisture evaporates fast and the pavements begin to look dry within minutes. A classic Edinburgh day.

I am so enjoying getting to continue my visit to Edinburgh in this manner. Thanks for supplying my fix. Your notes are great, as is the photo.

I love the realism of this photo. The strength of the forefront makes me fee I am standing right there. Terrific.
