Trolling Sharks by Kate Eller

Pastel on black “velvet textured” pastel drawing paper

19″ × 24″

I took a shot of this pastel with my new camera to get better detail and correct sizing for cards, etc., Now it is much closer to the original.

The composition was from several pictures of sharks to make it more painting worthy. At the time, I was fascinated with the habits of these creatures ……fearsome, but beautiful and graceful.

This is fabulous Kate – I had an illustration I did of a shark for a publisher rejected because it wasn’t ‘dramatic’ enough, but yours have plenty of drama and mood – fantastic!!!

  • Thank you Karen. Such a lovely comment. I cannot imagine any of your work being rejected for any reason. I very much admire your wonderful talent.
