Brian Towers
He does look a touch annoyed Kate. This reminds me of those early cover pictures for novels. It has that romantic art style which in very appealing.
Kate Eller replied
Yeah, he’s taking advantage of that poor man who looks like a hunter but doesn’t have a rifle. Oh, I loved those novel covers…..and they worked too….made you want to buy the book. I’ll take that as a very nice compliment Brian.
GEORGE SANDERSON
Brilliant composition, Kate, an instant favourite !!!
I agree with Brian Could be a cover for King Solomon’s mine !
Kate Eller replied
Hi there George! Thank you for the very sweet comment and especially for the fav. Always love hearing from you. You and Brian crack me up.
Barbara Applegate
Beautiful Job. I love it
Kate Eller replied
Thank you Barbara. What a nice comment. I am so glad you like it.
Seth Weaver
Marvelous crisp details, wonderful colors, and powerful composition. A real beauty! This could be a card that the GOP sends out before the next major election!
Kate Eller replied
Heeeyyyy…that’s an idea Seth. Both the Dems and the GOP need some help right now….don’t know if a card would do the trick. Thank you for that really fantastic comment. Thou dost flatter me too much my friend.
Les Smutz
Looks like a batch of “hunterbutter” is about to be made!! I’ll ditto all of the above…great piece!!
Kate Eller replied
Round and around and around the rock they go until the hunter finally turns into butter. Just reminded me of a childhood story. Hey, thanks for “dittoing’ all of the compliments above……and yours too Les. Much appreciated my friend.
Les Smutz
Hehehe, you remember!! We can’t even say the whole name anymore, can we? Little (blankie) Sambo, maybe…but…ah forget it.
Kate Eller replied
Yeah, it’s best not to go there….I know NOTHING!.....Hey, that’s another oldie. Remember Officer Schultz who used to say that in “Hogan’s Heros” every time the prisoners tried to get information out of him?
Les Smutz
Who could forget??? Uh-oh, we’re showing our age…. :)))
ISMAIL ALAOUI ...
when did you add this,
this is so powerfull
i’m also drawing an elephant, but i’m sure your elephant can beat mine in a fight,
this one is huge , old and wise!
Kate Eller replied
Powerful….wow…thanks Ismail. I can’t wait to see your elephant. Mine does look kinda smart doesn’t he? I’ll bet the man in the picture doesn’t feel anywhere near as smart as the elephant does right about now.
Linda Callaghan
did not see this either…! I only checked out your profile as Dave Blythart put you on his pencil drawing journal and I thought I had not seen anything from you for a while…so glad he did. This is so detailed and such a stunning action one!
Kate Eller replied
Many thanks again Linda dear. You are so sweet with your comments. I appreciate your checking my profile. It is taking me a while to get into the groove with the new RB changes.
bevmorgan
Splendid and powerful piece of work, Kate. Wonderful composition and message here. Outstanding.
Kate Eller replied
Oh, thank you Bev. I did this a long time ago and the hunter was supposed to have a rifle in his hand…..but I’m glad I left it out. I don’t think people hunt elephant anymore ( which I’m glad of ).
LorusMaver
Wow! this is both dynamic & dramatic ! superb movement & textures Kate.
Kate Eller replied
Thank you very much Lorus. That is a wonderful comment…..not sure if I quite deserve it but is much appreciated.

Kate Eller replied
Thank you Webbie! What a nice comment….and thanks for the welcome to “Primitive…....”
BLYTHART
Wise move not to include the rifle. Lovely painting.
Kate Eller replied
Actually, I forgot it. ( But, even if I hadn’t…..you’re right…..it would have been a wise move not to include it. )
Michael Scholl
You are so diverse! This is fantastic!
Kate Eller replied
Thanks Michael. I try to be. Got stuck on ships and boats, and still like to do those. But I do like to try different subject matter. Always appreciate your comments.
