Superb drawing, which looks like a painting in this photo. The strong complementary contrast of the orange against the green/yellow leaves, is stunning.
The beautiful back-lighting imparting a gold to the leaves, is a classy touch.

I much admire coloured pencil work ! It takes a lot of patience and control. It is a superb picture,
Kate Eller replied
Thanks Beatrice for your very nice comment. I love pencil…..and sometimes, depending on the project, it does take awhile, and patience. It is also versatile in that you can do quite impressive work by making it simple and leaving a lot of white paper.
Ming Myaskovsky
I couldn’t believed this is colored pencil, I thought this is OIL painting! Bravo!!! :))))))

That’s a beautiful comment Ming. Thank you! Yes, it took a little while to do this one, but you can be so very precise with pencil.

An instant favorite. Colored Pencils??? wow…and 90 percent of the drawing is green… to manage all the subtleties, you must be have a lot of patience as well. Just love the vibrancy and the light shining through the leaves… It is truly beautiful
Kate Eller replied
Hello Nancy, Thank you for that very nice comment. It was rather tedious, but enjoyable. I worked on it in sessions.

I am 100% impressed by this incredible picture. For a while now I have been compiling a catalogue of good coloured pencil artists on Redbubble. I have added a link to your portfolio and an illustration of this picture to my article, which can be seen here You are at the very end, as it is a chronological list that I am constantly updating.
Kate Eller replied
Wow…what a really great comment! I did not realize you were keeping this list. I am honored to be added. I like using colored pencil a lot…..you have so much control….but I use all of the mediums. I don’t just stick with one. It’s a matter of just wanting to do something different each time I do a new piece. I didn’t realize that colored pencil was considered an inferior medium by some. Guess it’s just another form of snobbery. Your list is quite impressive. A very lovely thing for you to do my friend.
