Beautiful painting. Each and every element contributes to the serenity. I am scared of water because I can not swim, however, would love to take a dip into this one. It’s so cool. As an architect, I would love to move few houses to find more compositions. I am blind to lemon yellow shade, so what I see, no one else can. he he. Thanks for sharing this one…. Peace N Love from all of us here in India.

Hi yimusjane , thankyou for favouriting Sprocket , he was a treasure and i miss him loads… thought id drop by and have a look at your work and i happened on this one, was wondering if it was Peggys cove, Nova Scotia ? I have done a watercolour of a similar scene and it made me smile that we are both fond of this image….looking forward to checking out the rest of your stuff (O:
Kate Eller replied
Oh, you are welcome. Sprocket is beautiful. I have a beagle and she has that same sweet look. I know how much you must miss him. I just lost my beagle mix, Sophie She was only two. She is very much missed. There is a pencil drawing of her when she was a pup in my portfolio. You know connie…I am not sure but you may be right about this being peggy’s cove. I did this from a mag photo many years ago. Is yours in your portfolio? I must have missed it…I’ll go look.

Dohmnuill
Ah, ah , I see a connection ! Thank you so much for the fav. I appreciate that.
Your painting has certainly captured that NE Atlantic coast “feel”, with the rocks and the boat sheds on stilts. Good to see, Don.
Kate Eller replied
Yeah….this has got to be in the same area. Thanks bunches for the comment and you are welcome for the fav. :)
arnene
They say (?) all good things are worth visiting again and again. As you grow and evolve, your level of awareness helps you in finding altogether different dimension. Today, I found water as well as sky are the key elements of this painting. Beautifully done! I wished there were few human beings too! :-)
Kate Eller replied
I don’t know who said that either, but it makes perfect sense. I know what you mean about seeing things which you might not see or be aware of at first viewing. I even do that myself, with my own paintings. I wish I had the time to “study” paintings as much as I would like. If you are like me, every time I see a painting in a gallery which I really like, I have to get right up to it and study the brush strokes. You are a very deep thinker Armene, and I appreciate your thoughtful comments about my painting.
arnene
Thanks for your kind appreciation. Neeta Ingle and Roland Roycraft paint without brushes or with minimum use. Try visiting their work too, both are outstanding. This painting has a meditative mood too.
Alan Harris
lovely use of colour !!!
Kate Eller replied
Thank you Alan. I have noticed that this has turned out to be a popular location for painting. I have seen several renditions of this same scene on RB.
Lynda Robinson
Really stunning work Kate! The reflections in the water are excellent, and I love all the red bits which lead the eye around the painting. I love arnene’s comment too. Must look up those artists he mentioned.

Colin Cartwright
This is a beautiful version, Linda. Wonderful reflections.
I’ve just seen Connie’s, and I thought it looked familiar! I’d just viewed yours a few days ago (and favorited this) – and I remembered the way the American wooden building angles, related to each other – as a painter I notice these things!
Kate Eller replied
Aha Colin…....I think you might be seeing some off angles on my part. I did this a very long time ago and when I look at it I want to re-do so much about it. My late husband owned a small chain of seafood restaurants years ago, and he gave me the project of painting paintings for these restaurants. I had to do them quickly, so he set me up in a little office and said “go to it”. I did, and in a hurry to get them done, much of the perspective is not “spot on”. Many of them are in my portfolio on RB, but some were sold and I never made photos of them. You have the painters eye Colin….that’s for sure. We see little things, compare, and study….where the non-painter would not. Thank you kindly for your thoughts and lovely comment…AND for the fav.
Colin Cartwright
That’s an interesting story, Linda. Sometimes the quick ‘on the spot’ paintings can look fresher – unlike the overworking of some – being a beginner, I tend to overwork mine, as they rarely look right to me!
I can’t see any perspective inconsistencies here, (they usually stand out straight away). The whole image is beautiful, and seems to capture a moment of time of this fine little harbour.
I hope your paintings are still adorning the walls of those restaurants,or somewhere where they can be appreciated!
Kate Eller replied
What an absolutely beautiful comment Colin. I so look forward to your thoughts about my work…....and I especially look forward to seeing yours. Talk about “spot on”. Yours always have that professional “masterworks” look. It is very hard to believe you are a beginner. A natural artist I would say. Thank you for another very lovely comment.
Bob Hardy
Wonderfully done Kate. A masterpiece! :)

Kate Eller replied
Wow, now that is a very special comment…....One I think I will take to heart. Thanks Bob.
