I can’t remember any shot from any of the most accomplished National Geographic shooters that captured human emotion better than this, and at the same time managing to do it with such stunning tonal balance and lighting. the mood of anxious anticipation is intense, and that the boy’s head is turned from the object of the anxiety illustrates the innocence of those too young to be emotionally involved. This is a classic piece of art, and one of the best people images I’ve seen in ages. I hope you’ll enter this in competitions.
