There is a wonderful mood here – as with all your other images in this series from Tibet. Although it is dark and a little foreboding, the effect is strangely positive. I think that it is the strength in the wind that I can almost feel. I’m sure that if I were to speak the words would be snatched away and be taken tumbling in tatters to wherever it is that prayers end up.
beautiful! It was so bright and vivid when I was in Tibet and Qinghai, I wouldn’t have thought of photos with such muted colors. The whole group are stunning.
Thank you KLiu, In 09/2006. I was invited to have a photographic exhibition in Lanzhow, Ganshou province in China. Before the exhibition I went to some Tibetan places again. Some of the group of Tibetan Player Flags were taken in Dari town, Qinghai. We arrived at the town around 1.00pm. After had simple lunch we derived through the only street of the town and reached the hills at the skirt. The Yellow River flow along the foot of the hills and on the top of the hills were fully displayed with colorful pray flags fluttering by the summer wind. The weather condition changed quickly in the plateau. I was very lucky because the sharps of the clouds were dramatic. The fast changing weather become the best accompany of these pray flags. As I believed that all the elements: pray flags, with the spirits of the prayers, the darker sky, sparkling rivers, strong wind and the coming storm were all striking a responsive chord.
I’ve seen many images of prayer flags and always find them so moving, spiritually, but this one … with your unique angle and these fabulous clouds … is one of the very best!!!!! My most heartfelt congratulations on your Front / Home Page Feature today!!!!!! A great honor for a great image!!!!!!!!
