Selling art on ebay

The thing about selling art on ebay is that it depends what you are selling.

Sports art is a real winner….but selling any other types of art subjects have not worked for me….I am talking about prints here….I have tried to sell scenery, ghosts, still life, animals, portraits….you name it…..non sports art does not sell on ebay.

If you go to ebay, you will see that I have lots of sports art listed. Just type Hipwell into an ebay search…..I also have some non sports art too…but it does not sell, and is really just there for advertizing my name and art.

You also want to establish a brand name…..so in every listing I put my name…..Hipwell….

Because Ebay is such a popular site…you need to start by pricing your art real low….until you develop a following…..I have developed a following with my sports art and started to raise my prices…..ditto my other art….if I start getting more bids…and sales.

Why does non sports art not sell?….first off the competition for selling regular art is so fierce. There are a ton of great artists……also I am an unknown…..I mean, who is Dave Hipwell?…..also ebay, does not allow you to download pictures with enough resolution to look good.

Now the sports art does sell very very well!…..I sell to the same people who collect sports cards….the main reason that it sells is the THE UNITED STATES IS A SPORTS CRAZY CULTURE.
