The Ron Paul victory in Iowa could conceivably tear the republican party apart. I say. so what! Neither party is worth anything anyway any more. The sorry fact is both parties are pretty much the same. What this election is doing is fertilizing a whole new attitude toward what America is about. The whole general mind-set is changing. While I think that most of us with a lick of sense can see that it is Romney who is being groomed to run against Obama, the Ron Paul phenomenon is fostering an American awareness that has not been seen since before the last century. If that phenomenon fractures the parties, I say bring it on. What we have is failing us so any major change will be a positive one …IF, we can survive the next four years. If we can, the next election will see some amazing changes because even the people debating here, who are not for Paul are still saying that change is necessary.
When our president is letting our states be sold to China to relinquish debt that we’ve incurred through blatant mismanagement. Something must be done. Can we hold on for four more years? I really don’t think so and that is why I believe it is paramount to get Paul elected and risk whatever uncertainties might come of it. I personally agree with his foreign policy because falling back to our own borders, letting things transpire as they will in the middle east and rebuilding our economy and subsequently our military strength is, underneath it all, a very basic military tactical maneuver. One that we had better resign ourselves to before it is too late. BUT…even if Ron Paul’s policy proves soft, it is pragmatic and buys time.
No president since I can remember has been a 100% winner…had the whole package. I frankly feel we sometimes ask too much of our candidates. We seek perfection and beat them up when they’re anything less. The fact that a lot of hawk minded Americans have to face right now is that even if a ground war with Iran were eminent, we would take devastating losses that we simply cannot afford right now and just suppose we were embroiled in such a conflict when and if Iran achieves nuclear functionality and China buying up our sovereignty. America as we know it will no longer be. It’s more than, “They hate us, let’s go get ’em.” Our very existence is currently on the table. We had better bet carefully and play VERY close to the vest because playing police force to the world has put us all in.
