Artist's Description

TOOK THIS SHOT OF THE MOUNTAIN ABOUT A WEEK AGO. STEPPED OUT OF THE CAR AND ALMOST FROZE. THE TEMP WAS IN THE LOW 30’S HERE AT THE 5400 FOOT LEVEL!!! I WENT FOR THE COAT FIRST THING, CAMERA SECOND. AFTER ABOUT 30 OR 45 MINUTES OF SHOOTING I DEVELOPED SOME PAIN IN MY RIGHT EYE AND THE FRIEND WHO WAS DRIVING AND ALSO A PHOTO NUT SUGGESTED THAT WE SHOULD LEAVE. MY EYE LOOKED AS IF IT HAD RUPTURED AND BLOOD WAS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE. WE FLAGED DOWN A PASSING PARK RANGER WHO HAD A FIRST AID KIT. SHE CALLED FOR AN AID CAR WHICH WE MET DOWN HILL IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. MORE FIRST AID WAS GIVEN AND THE REST OF THE TRIP TO THE HOSPITAL WAS WITH AN EMT IN THE AMBULANCE. THESE EMT’S ARE GREAT FOLK AND WERE VERY COMFORTING. AT THE HOSPITAL I WENT INTO SURGERY FOR REMOVAL OF A TUMOR ON THE INSIDE LOWER EYE LID THAT I WAS UNAWARE OF. FOR SOME REASON AT ELEVATION IT HAD RUPTURED. I HAVE BEEN TAKING LIFE A BIT EASY OF LATE (UNDER PROTEST) SINCE I FEEL GOOD NOW AND OUT OF PAIN. I WILL HEAR ABOUT THE BIOPSY SOMETIME THIS WEEK OR NEXT SO A FEW PRAYERS WOULD BE HELPFUL.
