A Stained Glass window in Chester Cathedral depicting St Anthony.
Chester suffered badly at the hands of the Parliamentary troops. As a consequence, its stained glass dates mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries
Out of interest I looked up what St Anthony is the patron saint of and came up with the following:
American Indians, Amputees, Animals, Asses, Bacon, Basket weavers, Brushmakers, Brazil, Butchers, Eczema, Elderly people, Epileptics, Faith in the Blessed Sacrament, Fisherman, Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land
Gravediggers, Harvests, Hermits, Horses, Lost Articles, Love, Lower animals, Mail, Mariners, Marriage, Oppressed people, Poor people, Portugal, Pregnant women, Shingles, Shipwrecks, Starvation, Sterility, Swineherds
Tigua Indians, Travel hostesses, Travellers and Watermen.
There could well be other things…….
