Once we sailed on the endless sea by

This poor old old boat is (or was, not too sure after the recent tidal surge in the area) in Blakeney, North Norfolk, England

Super capture and looks great in b/w Yampi !

  • Thanks Mattie, I got pretty muddy trekking out on the salt marsh to get this shot, only to find I could have just walked along a nice gravel path from the other direction

Wonderful capture – such a shame to be left to rot

  • Thank you, there are quite a few seemingly abandoned boats dotted along the Norfolk coast line, some of which actually make it to the tourist websites (as this one boat has) I guess it attracts the photographers

  • Thank you very much for featuring my picture, I wonder if it will still be there after the winter storms?

I recognise this, I took a picture of this a couple of years ago, can’t believe it’s still there!! Great image and processing.

  • Thank you Nigel, I was there about 4 weeks ago and comparing it to your image there seems to be little change. I hope you had the sense to walk along the causeway rather than try to walk across the marsh, like I did.

CONGRATULATIONS! This superb image earned a TOP 10 Place in the NAUTICAL challenge, BLACK AND WHITE ~ SEPIA ~ MONOCHROME, on December 7, 2013.

You can read your announcement and see all the winners HERE

  • Thank you very much, There has recently been a huge tidal surge on the Norfolk Coast, many houses lost to the sea through cliffs collapsing, so this poor old thing might well have been lost too.

Wonderful entry! Congratulations on your Challenge Win!

  • Thank you Gena, with the dreadful weather we’ve been having lately, especially in the last few days, I’m guessing that this boat has been lost to the waves
