The word “bumblebee” is a portmanteau of bumble + bee — “bumble” meaning to hum, buzz, drone or move ineptly and “bee” meaning bee.
The title of this image comes from a character in The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse (1910) by Beatrix Potter,
“Suddenly round a corner, she met Babbitty Bumble—”Zizz, Bizz, Bizzz!" said the bumblebee."
An old English name for the Bumble Bee was Dumbledor which went out of fashion many years ago and has not been heard of since. (Obliviate!!)
