As part of the ideas that are coming to my mind in recent weeks in relation to the Epidemic of Domestic Violence or Domestic Abuse, I had the need to create this image from a really well known woman, The Mona Lisa.
I was wonder, what if that semi-smile she has is because she is hiding a deep pain that society is not willing to confront?
The Mona Lisa shows us the art and beauty surrounding Women, but it doesn’t say the abuses many women around the world is facing every second. Or it does?
Either way, I left you here with this provocative image and I hope it helps us understand the brutality and the damaging consequences of Domestic Abuse, and Women Abuse, something the transcend generations through our Children and the Children of our Children.
It’s time to close this cycle. Is time to look for solutions.

Thank you.

It is shame and fear, that stops the victim from speaking out! I know that for a fact, been there, seen it done it! Not wrote the book yet! But, I totally agree with you ‘Stop Violence Against Women!’

  • I’m so tire to see, read and hear over and over the tragedies many women have to endure in their lives. It’s time to respect tour Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Girlfriends, Wifes, Lovers….you name it to heal the big majority of Social Ilness we are living today. We need to end this Misogynistic system in all it’s forms. Hate and Violence are born from Fear, if we see Women as Equals, there is no Fear, there is not Violence and Hate.
Sorry to hear that, I hope you were able to rise out of it. No one deserver to be put down under any circumstances.
If you are interestd in this issue, I have the whole collection at I’m trying to use T-Shirt and posters to promote this reality. I hope you like it. Keep me post.

I co-wrote a film that was shot in Melbourne last year called ‘The Three Ages of Sasha’. Sasha’s first age is as a baby born into a domestically abusive environment. Her second age is as a young child absorbing and trying to understand the violence around her. The third age is Sasha as a young adult who now uses her education in the only way she knows how… It’s a hard look at a cycle that we must break. Once a child has reached the age of seven it is often too late. Anyone interested you can go to the website where there are a few teasers. The more support this film gets the better chance we have of breaking the cycle of domestic violence.

This week’s theme is loneliness, abuse and other places of emotion we should not have to experience, emotional pain and abuse. And your work powerfully conveys these stories.

  • Thank you. I really appreciate the support on my work. It reminds me I am not screaming in the desert.
