CAN YOU REMEMBER YOU FIRST ART CREATED AS A CHILD? WAS IT FUN?
Romo
Actually, I remember a few pieces….one was a very colorful abstract that I did when I was 5 years old and another piece I remember very well was a pastel profile drawing of a girl at 10 years old…I still am rather fond of color, abstracts and portraits…:)
ARE YOU A PROFESSIONAL IN A MEANING THAT YOU HAVE PROPER ART TRAINING AND CONTINUOUSLY PRODUCE ART FOR SALE AND ART EXHIBITIONS?
Romo
I’ve sold a few pieces here and there and had a few commissions however I do not make a living at it and must work elsewhere..I’m currently working on obtaining my fine arts degree.. with working full time I have not really scouted out galleries, fairs, etc…all my spare time is spent creating however I hope to do more of that in the future:)
IF YOU HAD TO MAKE A LIST OF 5 – 10 FAVORITE VISUAL ARTISTS EVER YOU ENCOUNTERED IN YOU LIFE TIME SO FAR…WHO WOULD THEY BE?
Romo
Wow…need to think about this…are you referring to todays artist or art history….there are so many here on RB that I could not even begin to name them all…a few of my favorites during my art history study period would have to be Van Gogh, Monet, Kadinsky, Claude Lorrain, Delaunay and Duchamp….
WHEN YOU SOLD THIS T…A FIRST ONE HERE ON RB, WHAT WEN TROUGH YOUR MIND, CAN YOU REMEMBER?
Romo
Oh yes…I did a few watercolors that just did not cut it…I tried doing some digital work and nothing; basically it was just a feeling which was frustrating for me …so I took a break did a few other things for a couple of days and than on the third day I started doodling:)
Yes it did, I just shut my mind down and started doodling…A few of the doodles I will paint…some of the others are not worth turning into art and were basically practice to get what I call my creative juices flowing again….I also did a few other pieces similar to previous works such as Curve Appeal II which is a variation of my original piece called curve appeal…:)
HAVING THIS SITE IS AN INSPIRATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR YOU?
Romo
RB is a wonderful Art Community full of great Artists and people Not only has it been a large source of inspiration it has also been a great source of support as well as build my confidence as an artist… So many of my pieces have been inspired by others here and I have also learned so much on this site….
DO YOU LIKE DIGITAL ARTS, IE: IMAGES CREATED USING PHOTO SHOP OR LIKES OR PLAIN OLD TRADITIONAL TOOLS IN HAND AND ON PAPER OR CANVAS OR WHATEVER?
Romo
I like them both….I think digital art gives us a whole new avenue for the visual arts…I also use it to merge photos and paintings creating a whole new look which I really could not get with just painting or digital alone:)
Romo
I was totally surprised that I sold this tee but very elated:)
WOULD YOU THINK PICASSO THE GREATEST ARTIST OF MODERN TIMES TILL THIS DAY, AND IF NOT WHO WOULD YOU?
Romo
You know I did not mention Picasso in my top, although I like many of his works…I myself do not consider him the greatest artist of modern times and I do not know if I could name just one anyway however I would say my all time favorite artist would probably have to be Monet:)
HAVE YOU EVER CREATED A PIECE OF ART THAT SOMEONE OWNS BY NOW, THAT IF YOU HAD A CHANCE TODAY YOU WOULD SURLY DESTROY OR DRAMATICALLY CHANGE IT TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS WITH YOUR NEW SKILLS, NOW…YEARS LATTER? YOU DON’T HAVE TO NAME IT…YES OR NO WILL DO…:)
Romo
Actually I do not think so…many of my earlier pieces were probably more realistic…as I’ve developed my skills I tend now to go a bit more with my emotions and feelings for this piece rather than trying to create a realistic piece…however everyone of my pieces that I’ve sold or given away to family or friends were right for that moment in time and I do not think I would change a thing…That is not to say I have not created some terrible pieces , however those pieces are either trashed, painted over or hidden in my closet..waitig for inspiration to make improvement too(lol).....
Romo
I will have to admit though if I had some of those pieces here that were sold or given away I may be tempted to paint over them…something I used to do all the time… I would finish a piece thought it was great…looked at it a few days later and saw all kinds of things wrong and ended up painting over the entire image:)
DO YOU HOPE TO REMEMBERED IN ART HISTORY, IF SO WHAT ARE YOU DREAMS, FANTASIES ABOUT IT….STRICTLY AN EGO TESTER QUESTION?
Romo
mmm…never really thought about that….however of course it would be great to be remembered in Art History…my dream right now however is just to be able to make a living with my Art:)
WELL, THIS IS FOR TODAY…IT’S ALL TE TIME I HAVE, WE MY CONTINUE AGAIN ONE DAY IF YOU WISH…IT’S BEEN FUN AND PLEASURE, NEVER DONE THIS SORT OF THING BEFORE. WISH YOU ALL THE BEST…GOOD NIGHT….
Romo

WHAT COMPELS YOU TO CREATE VISUAL ART?
Romo

AS A CHILD WERE YOU ENCOURAGED TO DOODLE, PLAY AROUND WITH ART MATERIALS?
Romo
Not really, however I was constantly doodling and day dreaming anyway, which caused me a bit of trouble particularly in school….
