Holy moly I sold something August 12, 2007 Couple of panda t-shirts just went out the door… KACHING $_$ So now I’m like $1 short of actually getting a payout, so my devious scheme is to buy one of my cards anonymously to push my earnings over the line. .. profit! « Please recheck your portfolio … Writing OF THE FUTURE! » Journal Comments Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago how come you have one thing in your folio and get that type of selling action happening, I go like 13 pages of high qual art and I have .50c in the kitty… ??? Tell me, does my art suck? you lucky ducky… Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago of course, your panda is worthy of such worship. Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago speaking of that, if I never sell another thing, will I actually get my .50c??? sorry, I can’t figure it out, hard to click that sales button, hurts hurts hurts… Xavier Shay about 9 years ago 1) Sell out and draw what the people want1a) If you wouldn’t hang it on your wall, don’t upload1b) This blog is good2) He thinks so also3) You won’t get anything until you earn the minimum payment threshold, which is currently $20 for paypal/direct deposit, and $100 for cheque. If you want to get paid early, I believe there is a $5 processing fee. Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago cool, thanks man. see it’s not really a thing about selling prints this is my virtual gallery, i upload to make people think and maybe sell something because i affected their thoughts, that’s what art is to me. quite frankly points 1a&b are a little bit artistically offensive :-) plus whos to say that one person’s trash isnt my treasure??? (some stuff I have uploaded only as a public experiment cause I wasn’t sure it was “good” enough to find it got just as much attention) i am glad that you feel ok about telling me to sell out though so i guess you think my art does suck … :-( don’t worry just fun. my ego copes with no sales simply because i know the cash is secondary to the thrill of creation… do you think that all artists should be obsessed with sales… conversationally speaking cause sometimes I think that that emphasis drags this community down here while one artist is happily bragging about their sales how many are getting depressed and giving up, not just the bubble but art altogether, crossed my mind once or twice. I think I need to seriously approach the boss about point three. It sort of feels unfair. I’ll sleep on it! Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago doh, was it the colons or the brackets? Kathleen Cameron about 9 years ago oh and photographers and artists are different animals… DataShine about 9 years ago Different animals? Not necessarily :) Xavier Shay about 9 years ago Sorry Kathleen, I didn’t actually look at your portfolio before responding. I tell everyone to sell out. Which is easy for me because art isn’t even a hobby for me. I don’t see how 1a is offensive, or if you are uploading stuff that you wouldn’t hang on your wall isn’t that selling out anyway? Unless you’re uploading it for feedback (in which case don’t make it for sale). To put this in perspective, I just made $18. That’s a nice bonus, but it’s not exactly feeding the kids. And it’s was the hyphen noses in your smiley faces… mister khan about 9 years ago i’ve never sold a thing- the maximum resolution of my pictures is about 400 × 600, so i’m not allowed to. what about ‘redbubble collectable memorial postage stamps’, to satisfy this oversight?
