Artist's Description

In 2000 I lived in this little town on the north coast of Nova Scotia, Canada called Malagash. It was basically a holiday town and I was there during Christmas so it was all but deserted except for about 75 inhabitance who live there all year round, spread over a space the size of Toronto (for those who don’t know Toronto that’s a BIG space). My nearest neighbor was about 1km away.

Due to the harsh winter elements a lot of the older abandoned houses were deteriorating, collapsing from rot in their structures over the years and it made for some pretty creepy/crooked subject matter, the above house being a case in point.

There were a number of houses like this but unfortunately at the time I only had a pretty crappy camera (non-digital at that!) and was only able to salvage a small number of images. Hopefully with some photoshop work I’ll be able to upload a couple more in the future.

This image I once used as a Happy Housewarming card for a friend – I think they thought I was trying to curse them :o)
