Excellent photography here, hat being the only thing giving depth to this capture is a great choice. Really like this one.

  • Thank you Milos for your kind comment. Greatly appreciated!!

Another light victim, but victims become immortal in this chase.

  • Thank you for shining your light

Excellent silhouette, it has such a lovely quietness to it – she’s so absorbed in her book. Great candid :)

  • Thank you, Trish :)

    G’day KEITH!

There are many things about this very fine semi-silhouette candid that I feel make it all work so well.
The square corner of that dark plaque top right in juxtapoaition to the smooth curves of the hat. The smooth curves of the hat echoed in the soft curves of the face, body and book pages. The top-centre placement of the hat giving balance to the book and plaque. That glorious light painting itself over the hat and being reflected from the book onto the glasses.
The contrast and tonal range is most pleasing as is the dappled background.
Well spotted and very well made man!

  • Thank you so much for your comment, Dennis. Since you have been so kind, I will let you into a little secret. This was a candid and I managed to fire off a few shots before the young woman realised what I was doing. The reason I chose this particular frame to upload was because of the light in the glass. I’m really happy you spotted that. :)
