Perfect smiles stretched so tight
Only practiced eyes
Can see the lies behind them.
I will smile back,
One of the well-trained ladies and gentlemen,
Because the rules are written in black in white.
Any colorful edit must be erased or masked
By upturned noses
And downcast eyes.
But not once will I believe in
For there are no teams.
In this game,
The winner stands alone.
As nice as smiles appear,
Lips too stiff to kiss reflect nothing but fear.
