The Julian Alps are a range of mountains extending from the Carnic Alps in northeastern Italy to the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is a heavily forested and glacier-scoured range. The mountain on the right of this photo is the Triglav, which rises to 2,864 m (9,390 ft). It is the highest peak in Slovenia, and also the highest of this range. This photo was taken from Kranjska Gora.
