This is the Victoriosa yacht marina in Malta. Starting at six o’clock on a July Sunday morning, I noticed that there wasn’t a soul in sight. But in two hours time it will be busy with people preparing for their Sunday cruise. Even at this hour I could already feel the warmth of a sizzling hot day approaching.
When setting my camera I noticed the large difference in EV between the shadowy foreground and the sun drenched building tops in the background. There is only one way to overcome this problem, that is make an HDR merged image. Took four shots, starting with an exposure set for the foreground and progressing up in 2/3 stops till the exposure was correct for the building tops. Back on my computer, I HDR merged the four photos in PS. Image is best viewed large.
