Schlegeis reservoir, or artificial lake, lies in south west Austria. This location is right in the middle of the Austrian Alps, a picturesque range of mountains. But the mountains in the skyline are actually in Italy. On that day we hiked past this lake to the Italian border, some 11 kilometers. Reaching Italy, we quenched our thirst on some Italian beer, had lunch and walked back. My best mountain hike so far!

Thanks, Philip. I think the Austrian authorities have made this area a national park.
