150 year old mounting steps
These carriage and horse mounting steps are in a small town called Tunbridge on the Midlands Hwy in Tasmania. Family history has it that my Great Great grandmother used them!! During summer they are hidden by the leaves of the creeper that entwines them, and during winter you have to know where to look to find them! Unfortunately Tunbridge is lacking in facilities these days, and not many people would know the history of these very old stone steps that are worn in the middle from the many feet who have used them in the early years of Tasmanian European settlement.
