The chopper idea was originally a neon project. My goal was to express a chopper with as few lines as possible. Neon needs to be simple. Plus, there needs to be room for electrodes so things like circles can’t meet. I got it down to seven lines— with no tail light and only one pipe, but decided this illustration achieved what I wanted best. Zita, I appreciate your comment very much!

Love your less is best approach! Great neon

  • Thanx! Back in 2000, I did a bunch of neons. This was the only one that didn’t get made. Maybe I’ll get back to it someday.

    I do… love neon signings..
And since I was a child.
Here in Spain… in those years of the fifties….life was dull…
    really dull..
and we looked with amazement the brilliant and flashing life of cities like Las Vegas..
    Now all has changed…
Neon is not longer the “most” in advertisement designs..
but for me…is homely… and perfect..
    All curved… brilliant…. and profound.
Rosa ( I love this one…and other that I have peeped in your stream. Thank you robert for you kind visit to my pics… A hug for you from your “loved” Basque Country.)

  • Thank you Rosa! Not only do I appreciate the comments and feedback, but your thoughts are always very interesting!

Someday I would like to visit Basque Country, but just now I have an old dog that I love too much to leave behind.
