Fourth of July Carnival Midway at Twilight
Carnival midway on a mid summer’s night; from a series: Sunset on the Small Town Carnival. Owing to the rise of mega-parks and high liability insurance, small town carnivals are rapidly disappearing. Whenever possible i try to document this vanishing aspect of the Twentieth Century American landscape.

T’was a lovely evening in northern Michigan (Traverse City). I enjoy trying to capture the feeling created by multiple light sources— the way shadows fall and colors collide. Very nice of you to comment!

Thanks Geir! This shot is my second best seller. I wanted to get all sunset images that session, but my assistant was late. We got some pretty good night work, but this was the only twilight image.
