Spring signs are everywhere! – VII
Gouda, my home-town, is located in a wetland area. It’s all about 6 meters below sea level ….! Therefore, there are many ditches in the area, which should keep the land dry. As the picture shows, thereby a kind of islands have been formed, connected by bridges.
The willow trees are pollarded, the fruit trees are almost blooming, the sheep got lambs and the Meerkoet (Coot) has its nest…
Shot taken at the ‘Bloemendaalseweg’. It’s my 7th image from the series that was taken during my walk along the Bloemendaalseweg to the center of the city.*_ The ‘Bloemendaalseweg’ used to be a road through the polders, lined with a wide ditch, and farms, but it is now running through Gouda, surrounded by new housing.
