~ Dedicated to Prince Friso… ~
Today I went to the mills in ‘Molenviergang’ (between Zevenhuizen and Moerkapelle). These can be seen along the A12. At right angels to the three on the image is a fourth. The last few centuries (since 1730) the four of them were responsible for pumping dry the polder…
But… Maybe you’ve heard the sad news, that last Monday our Prince Friso, the second son of Princess Beatrix, has died. … So sad!
The miller told me that the sails are standing in mourning position now, because of his death. The sails are standing then ‘5 minutes prior 5 o’clock’. The sails remain in this position until and including the day of the funeral. Friso was patron of the windmills in the Netherlands.
We wish the Royal Family lots of strength!
