W. Ralph Walters

W. Ralph Walters

Columbus, UNITED STATES

Born near the swamps of Southern Louisiana (but not actually in them), W. Ralph Walters began obsessively drawing skulls at 2 years of age, which, as you can imagine, is terribly metal. He began collecting injuries soon thereafter. He’s been bitten by snakes, struck by static lightning, stabbed, shot at, hit by three cars as a pedestrian and has fallen off the top of the same two-story building twice, which is also terribly metal, but also dangerous and really painful. Both the injuries and the art continued throughout his youth, resulting is a few self-published comic books and some tour posters with the mighty Drowning Creek Studios. Now he chooses to channel all that metal into doing album covers for mostly doom and stoner bands, while still doing the occasional painting that isn’t terribly metal at all.
