Morning Glory - Portland, Oregon by

Portland, Oregon, on a beautiful october morning, at sunrise, as seen from the OMSI (oregon museum of science and industry). The stunning reflections in the calm morning waters, the beautiful fall foilage on the shoreline of the Willametter River and the cheerful colours of the Hawthorn Bridge all make this image very special to me. Portland is one of my favourite cities, and I was very lucky to live there when I first moved to the US and got married.

Beautifully framed, lovely reflections but… not a cow in sight! Must be why you moved to Texas. Besides, if you let out a “yeeehaaaaw” there, they’d probably lock you up.

  • LOL – MOOOHHHH – chuckles – maybe the cow was BEHIND THE CAMERA – chuckles…!!! But you’re absolutely correct about the yeeeahwwww, that don’t fly very well here in the Pacific Northwest!

A super shot matey but I am deeply dismayed! Here’s me been thinking for all these years that PERTH was one of your favourite cities. Now you’ve changed your tune and I am reminded of my school days when we were forced to learn Latin. One of the phrases we had drummed into us has stuck with me for all these years – I can’t remember if the spelling is correct but it went “Varium et mutabile semper femina” which translated as ‘A changing and inconstant thing is woman always’ Another phrase that has stuck with me all these years is “Nil illegitimus carborundum” – but I won’t translate that here.
    Hugs, Peter

PS Did you see Judy Clark pop up on here this morning? Another very long time buddy.

  • Oh no, sweetheart!!! Don’t you be dismayed now on my account! You break my heart, mate! ONE…of my favourite cities…not: MY FAVOURITE CITY, big difference! My favourite cities include: PERTH!!!!, Paris, Prague, Portland (all with a “P” hmmm that’s odd), Salzburg, Seattle, Sydney, San Antonio, Singapore( hmm, all ‘S"s here)??? and Munich …well those are my top 10 or so….no sorry didn’t see Judy, haven’t heard from her in ages! Thanks so much for the compliment, Peter, Cheers. Marita

  • Oh yeah, for some odd reason, I’ve heard this a few (hundred) times before : A women is a fickle and capricious creature – well, to that I say: at least we’re not BOOORING, keep the mates on their toes… LOL, that’s why I always say: Don’t let the bastards getcha down…he,he,he…
