Beautiful Quarter Horse feasting on the bluebonnets in Texas in a backyard pasture of an old farmhouse
This is one of my fav pictures!
horses, wildflowers, texas, bluebonnets
What a wonderful scene and a superb photo. I love the concentration in the horse’s expression. A cracker mate! Hugs, Peter
This picture wakes me up every morning and I have it as a wall paper on my computer screen. Even though we had the hurricane strike last fall and a drought all winter and spring, our wildflowers were as beautiful as I’ve never seen them before! This horse, in the bluebonnets, caught my eye driving down the freeway at 130KM/H. I came to a screetching halt in the middle of a freeway, almost got rear-ended, lucky I had my little DMC-TZ3 with the 280mm zoom because he was way in the back of the field! It was worth it! :D
This would make a great addition to the Equine Art and Photography
Thank you so very much – I am brand new at the site, how would I do that?
What a wonderful image! The clarity of the horses and the burst of color in the flowers around them is beautiful!
A million thanks, Barbara, the Texas Bluebonnets bring so much joy to us in springtime and this year was just incredible, and throwing in the beautiful horse – well it’s just a wonderful bonus! :D marita
Great Texas country shot! Nice capture Worldtripper!!
Many thanks for your kind words Merrilyn! In springtime Texas is covered in wildflowers, it’s quite spectacular.Cheers. marita
This photo is one of the reasons I always carry my little Pansonic-DMCTZ3 on me, caught this horse in the field in the corner of my eye driving down the freeway at 70MPH. Came to a screetching halt, almost got rear-ended, and thanks to that awesome little 280mm zoom on the little camera – I now have this favourite shot of mine :D…
Absolutely amazing my friend. Only in Texas….
You’re absolutely correct, Teresa! We’re just covered in wildflowers in springtime. The highway department actually seeds them and doesn’t mow the grass, so when travelling the highways and byways you’re just surrounded by colour everywhere!
What a stunning shot! Some images grab your attention at first sight, and that’s one of those… rare as they may be.
I consider myself soooo lucky to have been able to shoot this photo and it’s one of my all time fav’s now! thank you Gary!
Oh my Gosh! This is so beautiful. A horse grazing on Blue Bonnets. It does get any more “Texas” than that! A stunning capture and instant favorite.

Much obliged, ma’m :D! Howdy and oh yeah….yeeehawwww!
