What a precious capture. You got so close… mom must have been close by watching you. That is what they do. You will look around and think this little baby has been deserted, but mom this just beyond reach. I love the daisies as if the help to camoflage the little fawn. An instant favorite.

  • William C. Gla... replied

    Hello Marjorie,
Thank you for the kind words and for adding this image to you favorites :) Good point about mom and not being deserted…so I took my image and left the area. I discovered this fawn while setting up my telescope for an evening of star gazing and observed mom coming out of the woods at sunset and the two of them walked around in the field together feeding as I watched the stars :)

Your ‘real life’ shot shows how close the Disney animators were to the real thing.
Your photo through its deep colours of the fawn, the flowers, the grass – then takes on a half animated / half real look to it.(A real compliment of your lighting
and pose of the fawn) Superb.

  • William C. Gla... replied

    Hello gottheshot,
Thank you for the kind words and review :-)

  • gottheshot

    gottheshot

I certainly couldnt and not many people could get a better shot of this lovely animal than this one. Photographing animals is about creating an emotion inside the viewer. If there’s not background or no expression or the subject is to far away – then the shot is ‘lost’
Your shot creates that emotion, its one eye showing gives a feeling of insecurity
in the fawn, the flowers are its little sanctuary. Tight framing, the flowers, the exposure make this a shot of PERFECTION.

  • William C. Gla... replied

    Hello gottheshot,
WOW, that’s so nice of you to say and share :-)

  • gottheshot

I always say: Share the compliment with the person that deserves it – and not
to friends or anyone else as polite conversation – WITH THE PERSON THAT DESERVES IT – or else the deserving person never gets to know – and whats the point of that. :-)
