The Prisoner Inside

Love wears an anklet
The murderer, a smile

Returning eyes reflect empty rooms
And a familiar distance
So I bury me deep
Beneath
Two way mirrors
And I watch you

Still I do nothing
So neither do you

The part of me that’s free
Hides the prisoner inside

Oracles and soothsayers
Couldn’t divine
Our change of heart
Only historians can chronicle
What is left behind

This is what’s real

And these fresh water tears
Are just rain on my face
Drying in the sun.

Something a little different for me I think. Maybe I do have a sensitive side after all.

I see the hiding…and I feel the hurt….only to find a key to unlock that prisoner …

  • Yeah well the funny thing about that is the prisoner isn’t really a prisoner. There is no key. deep huh?
