Fantastic work! I disliked dolls as a child and then in my mid 20’s I became obsessed with them. I did a course and made hundreds of porcelain dolls. I then made a sculpture and put them all together, calling it Fly Away Childhood. This is so very beautiful and a wonderful use of colour. The larger doll head reminds me of my best friend from school. Very well done, wishing you a creative and inspiring weekend!Sx

  • I have been drawing them for many years now and still do. Thank you for your comment…a great story…(your friend must have a cherubic face)….I would love to see your sculpture….I am sure I would like it.
Best wishes to you and your site..Maree

Maree, I don’t do it anymore. I still make heads and work with moulds but only in the Summer when one can work in the garden as it’s so messy. Thank you for your good wishes!Sx

Dolls, automatons…something weird, something Frankensteinian about them, isn’t it! I like your style!

  • dolls always seem to inspire “weirdness”…one of the reasons I like drawing them…..thank you for your visit!
PS…I am very interested in automatons, if I was rich, I would definitely collect them.
